David “Gurn” Kaniski
About
David has designed for numerous international touring artists representing nearly every musical genre.
With a longtime passion for lighting, Gurn utilizes the latest in entertainment technology and is able to create images that tell a visual story, while also keeping in mind any time, space and budget restrictions. His versatility and unassuming, calm under pressure nature makes him an easy person to work with and an invaluable part of any project.
As a stage designer he has been creating striking settings for years. His designs convey both the spirit and attitude of the artist and have the ability to place the artist in their own comfortable stage environment.
In addition to two Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Lighting Direction, David was also honored as the 1997 Entertainment Lighting Designer of the Year by Lighting Dimensions International, and Tour Links 2003 Nomination; Top Dog Lighting Director.
Mr. Kaniski has also been guest lecture for UCLA’s Pacific Roads Program, Citrus Colleges Kenshu Program and guest panelist for Production Lights and Staging News Seminars.
